Anti-roll bars dramatically improve handling. How? They minimize the traction-robbing body "lean" that rolls part of the outside tires off the pavement. Our Sport-tuned anti-roll sway bar replaces the skinny OEM rear sway bar and rubber bushings with a larger diameter (stiffer) alloy steel bar and polyurethane bushings.
More roll stiffness means less body "lean", and the tires stay flatter on the pavement (larger contact patches). The result is more grip and added driver control!
-Less body roll means more traction, faster cornering speeds, and increased driver confidence.
-Polyurethane bushings produce crisp response on turn-in. Made here in the USA by our friends at Progress Technologies. Progress Anti-roll bars are cold-formed in-house using custom-built precision bending equipment. Laser-cut and CNC bar ends are MIG welded in place using a precise fixture for an exact fit that is more durable than alternatives used by some other choices.
Features:
-Size: 28.5 mm SOLID
-Adjustment Range: 2 holes per side for a total of 3 possible stiffness settings
-All sway bars are powdercoated metallic gray.
-One year limited warranty
Brian's Notes: First Freeway 270 degree ramp with this was pure love, truck is so much more flat in the turn and much of the remaining stock understeering plow as you approach the limit is finally gone in favor of a much more neutral truck. A decade ago we did a special order from factory of a Dakota shop truck as a "SPORT" version with upgraded rear sway to get decent balance in that machine, Honda won't do that sort of customization so here we are doing it ourselves to get a more sporty driving G2 Ridgeline.
There are many different ways to measure the rate of a bar setup and most companies do the naked bar rate and that is not very helpful in my mind because bars are ONLY used as translated through the mounting and too often the mounts are left to do all the flexing that the bar is not doing. So, here it was tested in a rig with the mounting hardware. That means we put a lot more work into the mounting stiffness and you can see here the gusseted brackets and that we sandwich a steel plate at the attachment to the chassis. Result is much stronger than stock mounting. The bar is 28.5mm solid, and if the stock bar has a rate of 100# as mounted with stock mounting, here you are getting 200# to 234# (depending on attachment point of the endlinks). Yes, we are neatly doubling rear sway bar rate and a bit more...and the difference is instantly obvious on freeway ramps. These Anti-roll bars are cold-formed using custom-built precision bending equipment. During development I had the installation in my home driveway on set of ramps down to under 15 minutes. Thus I am a bit surprised by a few early adopters telling me it took them several hours to install. If you have the tools, it is pretty easy. Have handy the set of allen keys and open ended Gearwrench set and you can get the endlinks disconnected in about a minute per side. We had some Acura MDX customers ask us about fitment, but we understand that platform is similar yet not the same and on the MDX the spare tire would potentially rub the bar and need some sort of spacer to stay off the bar on that application.
